God conceals Himself; it seems like a lot in the Bible. Think about that for a moment. The last half of the Old Testament is prophecy and did not apply to the people of that time, and some still need to be fulfilled today.

"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter." (Proverbs 25:2)

When we learn that it is actually to God's glory when He reveals Himself in parables, prophecies, and metaphors, God reveals to us His will and His ways in the Bible, in the ways that we can comprehend.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8)

God told Isaiah, "My ways are above your ways, and My thoughts your thoughts." God describes His ways as being so much higher, that the example that was fitting was how much higher the heavens are than the earth.

Contrary to popular belief today, God is not just "the man upstairs." We need to honor God and properly think of His majesty and glory. When we see all the effort and respect that are given to an earthly king or leader, How much more honor, majesty, and glory do we need to give to God?

God makes known His ways and wisdom in the Bible because God Himself is unsearchable and unfathomable. Every aspect of God's being and ways would never be understandable to us if we spent hundreds of lifetimes studying Him.

Paul received a little insight on God's ultimate purposes with salvation, and he found himself in such awe that at the end of Romans 11, Paul wrote the following:

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:33-36)

It is sad to see how many people in our culture want to bring God to our level or have no sense of honor for Him at all. God is higher and more glorious than ourselves and our own limited, finite minds.

Think about this a second, can you fathom the glories of the universe God has given us? Do you fully grasp how little we know of it? God knows every detail in every corner of the universe. God calls us to learn, study, and meditate His Word.

The glory of God is vital to understand and honor. Even though it seems difficult at times to understand all the aspects of God, as we have learned from Proverbs itself, the knowledge of God is wisdom in our lives.

Will you take time this week to learn, study, and meditate on God's Word?

Heavenly Father, I know Your ways and thoughts are far above my ways and thoughts. I have available to me Your wisdom for my life. I will take the time this week to learn, study, and meditate on Your Word. Knowing Your Word will lead me in the right direction; I will have that joy, peace, and comfort that only You can give. Thank You, Father, for this truth to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
