HEAR THE WORD

Hear the word of the Lord, You who tremble at His word: “Your brethren who hated you, Who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, ‘Let the Lord be glorified, That we may see your joy.’ But they shall be ashamed.”

When we are born again, we are chosen by God to hear His Word. Some people say, "If I could hear the voice of God directly, it will change my life"; No! Others have heard God's voice, and it did not change their lives. It is not about the sound you hear; it is about the message the Word shows you, and whether or not you receive that message into your life. Every time you hear the Word of God in your spirit, you live.

“Hear the word of the Lord, You who tremble at His word: “Your brethren who hated you, Who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, ‘Let the Lord be glorified, That we may see your joy.’ But they shall be ashamed.” (Isaiah 66:5)

In the Old Testament, God asked Moses to gather the children of Israel to the foothills of a mountain so they could hear the Word of God.

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.” (Exodus 19:10-11)

When the people saw the thundering and lightning, they were terrified by the sound of His voice, but it did not change their lives.

“Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” (Exodus 20:18-19)

When Saul was traveling to Damascus as he wreaked havoc on the Church, suddenly, there was a great light from heaven that dazzled him. He fell to the ground and heard the voice of the Lord, but his colleagues listened to what they assumed to be thunder.

The reason Saul could hear God, and his colleagues did not is found here:

“Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth.” (Acts 22:14)

Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word from God's mouth. Every time God talks to us, we live; we are strengthened and blessed.

“ But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4)

The same way you eat food every day, and it nourishes your body, when you hear God's Word every day, it does something to your life; you are encouraged, and you go in the right direction. Success, blessings, and grace multiply in your life, all because you are feeding on the Word of God.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.” (John 5:25)

When you hear the Word of God, you live. Do not stop hearing the Word of God.

How much time do you spend per day hearing the Word of God?

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word of God in my life. Your Word is my life, and I walk in the guiding of the Holy Spirit because the Word is the light that guides my path. I am triumphant today, and always by the Word of God in my life, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
