THE REASON FOR HOPE
So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
When Jesus rose from the dead, Jesus proved that He was more powerful than all of the sin, death, evil, and disease in this world.
"So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God." (Mark 16:19)
When we asked Jesus into our lives, we reunited with God in heaven, and we received the power to overcome, just like Jesus did.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” (1 Peter 1:3)
Hope begins with our relationship with God; Jesus begins to bring hope to all areas of our life. There is no situation in our lives right now that is too bad for the "living hope" promised to us.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to make a way that we could have a relationship with Him. Jesus is the source of our hope. Not what is happening in the world around us.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
We are not robots, dispensing canned information. God calls us to care for others, to be life-giving encouragers, and we can all share God's good news filled with hope.
If we make ourselves available to God and acknowledge that it is God, not us, who does the work, then He will use us wherever we go. God may take us next door to a neighbor or help a senior get items from the store. He might use us right now stuck inside our houses.
God's Word and His message of hope will not be limited by anything or anyone. Life is about hope, and that hope would not be possible without Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus for paying a debt that I could never pay. You are the reason I can have hope in all circumstances. Help me to remember that the same power that lives in Jesus lives in me. Jesus overcame the worst the world has to offer, and with You, I can do the same. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
