GOD’S GRACE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

AUDIO VERSION

God can use all things for good, even our weaknesses, for good. Our faults prevent arrogance. When we realize that we are not perfect and do not have it all together, we become a more humble person. Being humble makes us more like Jesus.

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

God did great things in and through Paul. Even though Paul had faults in his own life, Paul called it his “thorn in the flesh” and asked God to remove it. God’s grace will always be enough for us too.

“Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.” (2 Corinthians 12:8)

Our shortcomings help us value others. It is okay if we do not have all the gifts, talents, or answers. That makes us appreciative of and dependent on the people in our lives and their gifts and talents. We need each other.

“No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.” (1 Corinthians 12:22)

Our weak points make us more dependent on God. If we had no areas in our lives that we needed to work on, we would not think we needed God. We would spend our lives relying on ourselves and not on God.

“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:10)

Our flaws allow us to minister to others. God does not want to use only our strengths in our ministry. He wants us to relate to people who are experiencing what we have experienced and overcome in our own lives.

“who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:4)

After God helps us go through a problem or learn to live with past mistakes, we can help somebody else with the same circumstances.

That is the kind of God you serve. God weaves even the bad stuff in our lives to make good. God will use our past to make us more like Jesus as we depend on Him and each other.

How can you use your past to minister to others?

Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for Your Words that apply to my life in You. Your grace is sufficient for me, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly, I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. You are my provider of strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
