HEAR AND LISTEN
Does God hear you? These are words that are spoken or thought by each of us every day. When we are going through hard times, that sense of loneliness may cause us to feel like God has left us all by ourselves.
“Hear and give ear: Do not be proud, For the Lord has spoken.” (Jeremiah 13:15)
The Bible warns against trusting our hearts for absolute truth. When emotions are running high, do not operate in what you think; operate in what the Bible says.
Let today’s Bible verse convince us that regardless of where we are in life, God hears us.
“Hear and give ear: Do not be proud, For the Lord has spoken” (Jeremiah 13:15)
God can not be much clearer than that, can He? There is one condition that God does not control. We have to be listening. Are we so busy that somebody could be talking to us, and we do not hear a word they say?
“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;” (James 1:19)
Did you notice that James spoke about listening? Listening to God is more important than talking, thinking, or creating the perfect plan.
If God is not listening when you pray, the problem is likely too much noise in our lives. Spend quiet time today listening rather than talking. You will start to hear God’s voice.
Heavenly Father, I will listen to You and not be proud. I will follow Your instructions in life, and as I do, I know I will be on the right path. Your Words are the most important words I could ever hear and obey. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
