FAITHFULNESS AND TRUTH
O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
Ever since God created time, everything has been changing, except God Himself. The environment changes with the seasons, and similarly, our lives also go through seasons. Some are filled with joy, while other times are characterized by difficulty. God is faithful, and we can always take comfort in knowing this.
“O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” (Isaiah 25:1)
Faithfulness is one of God’s unchanging traits. It means that God always does exactly what He says He will do and acts by following His nature. When God promises us, you can count on God to keep His promises.
“For the Lord of hosts has purposed, And who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, And who will turn it back?” (Isaiah 14:27)
God’s unchanging nature and faithfulness are the foundation of our hope. God will not change His mind about our salvation; we have the assurance of eternal security. Since God is the Ruler of the universe, we never have to fear that our world is out of His control. God’s plans were formed long ago with perfect faithfulness, and nothing can change them.
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
God is faithful, and we can have peace of mind in any circumstance, even in the face of a pandemic and uncertainty. We will change with time, and the seasons of life will come and go; our God is faithful and always the same.
Since we belong to God through Jesus, God will never forget, neglect, or abandon us. God has promised to protect us, and He will do it.
How has God been faithful to you?
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your promises to never forget, neglect, or abandon me. You have promised to protect me, and I know You will do it. My trust and confidence are in You and Your great love for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
