POWER OF THE RESURRECTION
But has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
We can try to bury power, but it will not stay there. We can try to bury the truth, but it is never dead. We can try to bury love, but it cannot be contained. Jesus is alive, and He won the victory over sin and death.
“but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,” (2 Timothy 1:10)
Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus never changes! Jesus made the way for us to live free.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
There is no other truth in history that has the ability to change lives and affect our future like this. Still, so many choose to reject Jesus’ sacrifice and love. Jesus offers us a choice today, and it is the best decision we could make.
What does Jesus’ power of His resurrection really mean? It provides a way to God. It gives us all an opportunity to have a personal relationship with God, Who made us and loves us more than we could even imagine. Without Jesus, there is no way to cross over to the other side of the relationship with God. Any attempt would fail, Jesus is the Only Way.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Through the price that Jesus paid on the cross, we have the opportunity to be forgiven of our sins. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness. Jesus took our sin and shame upon His shoulders. Jesus took the blows on our behalf so we would not have to suffer. Jesus showed us such incredible love and such amazing sacrifice.
Through that sacrifice, we were set free from the shackles of sin. We received freedom from shame, fear, worry, hopelessness, despair, addiction, guilt, darkness, and eternal separation from God.
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
Not only are we forgiven and set free, but we have a whole new life and destiny through Jesus. We are changed from the inside out. Jesus renews our minds. Jesus changes our hearts and desires. Jesus gives us fresh purpose for every day set before us.
When Jesus died and was buried, it did not stop there. Jesus did not stay dead. Jesus’ power broke through, and that same power is alive inside of us right now. God gives every one of us the power of the Holy Spirit, Who lives and moves through us every day.
“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
We do not need to fear the enemy or his attacks. As we live aware of the enemy’s traps, the power of Jesus over our lives gives us protection from the enemy. We are not left alone and helpless. We do not need to fight in our own strength. We stand strong in the power of the name of Jesus.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)
In that power, we never need to fear about what will happen when we die. In Jesus, we have been given the gift of eternal life. God is preparing a place for us to live forever with Him in heaven, and it will be way better than we could ever imagine it.
Who will you share the Good News of the Gospel with today?
Heavenly Father, I am so thankful Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus never changes, and I am so grateful He made the way for me to live free. You have said the Lord is faithful, who will establish me and guard me from the evil one. I put my complete trust in You. Thanks be to You, Father God, who gives me the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I am forever thankful that it has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. I now live with Your Holy Spirit in me, leading others to know You. What an honor to be able to live for You. Thank You, my Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
