FOUNDATION OF GOOD RELATIONSHIPS
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

If we want to have healthy relationships, we need to have an attitude of gratitude. We will be happier and enjoy our relationships more if we develop the habit of being grateful for the people in our lives.
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:3-6)
When we think of the people in our lives, is our first feeling of gratitude? Our first thought may not be gratitude, but Paul’s first thought for his friends was gratitude, and it is whose model we should follow if we want our relationships to last.
The longer we know someone, the more likely we will take that person for granted. Over time, it becomes easier to focus on that person’s faults and the bad times instead of the happy times.
That is why it takes effort to choose to have an attitude of gratitude for the people in our lives. The longer our relationships last, the harder it may be to remember.
We need to develop the habit of giving thanks to God when we think of our spouses, children, parents, siblings, neighbors, coworkers, and friends.
Who in your life are you thankful for? Have you told God? Have you told those people?
Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for Your Word that shows me how to be a follower of Your ways and principles. When I am thankful for all You have given me, including the ones in my life, I will be more like You. You have given, I receive; I will give so others may receive. This is for all areas of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
