GOODNESS AND MERCY
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Challenges come and go, and we face them daily in our work, health, friends, marriage, family, and even our country. At times like these, God can seem far off and distant from our lives.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Psalm 23:6
If we are one of His children, if we have turned from sin and made Jesus our Lord and Savior, we have this Psalm 23 promise in our pockets: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
Look at the two keywords in this phrase.
Goodness means bounty or blessing; mercy can also be translated as loving-kindness, favor, or steadfast love.
This was the favorite way David described God's attitude toward His children.
He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Psalm 33:5
The loving kindness of God, His goodness and mercy, is eternal. It is a persistent love God has for His children. He will not turn His back, give up or let us go.
For great is Your mercy toward me, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. Psalm 86:13
God is relentless in His pursuit of us. No matter what choice we make or where we go, He will come after us. God has a plan for your life, and He will go to great lengths to complete the work He has begun.
He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel, All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Psalm 98:3
If you have made Jesus the Lord of your life your best days are ahead.
As a child of God, it does not matter where we have been or what we have done; our greatest days of usefulness and service to His kingdom can be in the future, followed always by His goodness and mercy!
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; Philippians 1:6
Take a deep breath and smile because you have a big God, and He can handle the challenges that you are facing this week. As you face your challenges, remember the promise of God: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

Heavenly Father, I am thankful Jesus is the Lord of my life. I am never alone, nor am I ever without Your guidance. I have goodness and mercy, and they shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Now that is really living, really loved, really cared for, and my best days are ahead. This is why You have promised me joy and peace as I have believed You. The creator of my life lives within. I am blessed. In Jesus name, Amen.
