READY AND WILLING TO BE SENT BY GOD
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
If God called on you to do something right now, how long would it take you to get ready? Are you already prepared? Isaiah was ready and willing to be sent by God.
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
Some people are ready but not willing. Other people are willing but not quite ready. Then, there are those people who have prepared themselves ahead of time. These are the people who, after their training, are eagerly waiting for their assignment.
Which one are you?
God is looking for people who are ready and willing to serve Him. He is looking for people who have their spiritual lives prepared. The people who have spent time in God’s Word and shown themselves faithful.
Not perfection, but prepared. Not timid, but ready. This is the look of staying ready. If you are not ready, then the time is now to get ready. If you are ready, then let God know that you are ready. Now is the time for us to get on the same page with God. Take a moment in your time with God today to meditate on this.
Being spiritually ready is not about looking the part but the condition of your heart. Sometimes, we are ready to send ourselves before we have allowed God to tend to our hearts. Other times, God has dealt with us, but it is our hesitations that hold us back.
Most of us are still at home due to the pandemic. What better time for us to sit with our Heavenly Father and seek His face regarding what He is calling us to do for Him?
Our mission is that when the moment comes, we will be ready and willing to do the work of our Heavenly Father. That way, we will all be ready for God’s assignments.
Let us focus on what God is calling us to right now, at this very moment. Let us turn our hearts towards Him to be examined and prepared so that when God calls, we will be ready to be sent like Isaiah.
Are you willing? Ready? Willing and ready?
Heavenly Father, I want to be ready when You call. As I spend time with You, please show me who needs Your Word today. It is in my quiet time with You each day that I learn to hear and obey Your voice. I am ready to be sent. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
