FIND REST IN GOD
Paul gives us a breath of fresh air. In a world that demands constant hustle and bustle, God offers us rest, not just physical rest, but deep soul-level peace.
There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. Hebrews 4:9
This Bible verse is not just about taking a nap or getting a break. It is pointing to something much more: Rest from God. The kind of rest comes from knowing we do not have to try to earn His love or approval.
Through Jesus, the work of salvation is finished. He completed it on the cross, and now, we are invited to live from that finished work, not to keep trying to achieve what Jesus already secured.
Think about that. Many people carry invisible burdens every day: pressure to be perfect, to prove themselves, and to perform for others. However, for those who belong to Jesus, there is rest, and this rest is rooted in trust. It is about learning to trust in the promises of God and letting go of the need to control everything.
This does not mean we stop working or pursuing goals, but it shifts the posture of our hearts. We work from rest, not for it. We walk through life knowing that our identity is secure, our eternity is settled, and our worth is not up for debate.
Entering the rest of God requires an intentional choice. It means stepping away from the noise and making space to listen to God. It means surrendering the fear, striving, and anxiety and choosing to believe that God is enough and that, in Him, so are we.
Today, remember that there is a rest for the people of God, and if you belong to Him, that includes you. Breathe deep, let go, and rest in the grace that Jesus has already made available. You do not have to carry it all. God has already taken care of all the heavy lifting.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the rest only You can give. As I enter the rest of you, I make an intentional choice. I am stepping away from the noise and making space to listen to You. I surrender the fear, striving, and anxiety and choose to believe that You are enough and that, in You, so am I. I thank You and praise You in the name of Jesus. Amen.
