LOVING ONE ANOTHER
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
The words of Jesus are more than just a kind reminderm it is a divine call to live out the love that Jesus showed us.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. John 13:34
Think about the love Jesus showed His disciples. He loved them through their doubts, failures, and even betrayals. Before speaking these words, Jesus had washed their feet, a task usually reserved for the lowest servant. He did not only talk about humility and service; He lived it. His love was not limited to words or grand gestures. It was practical, sacrificial, and unwavering.
When Jesus commands us to love as He loved, He asks us to go beyond what feels comfortable. Loving others like Jesus means showing kindness to the person who annoys us, forgiving the one who has wronged us, and serving without expecting anything in return. It is not always easy, but it is how the world will know we belong to Him.
Jesus does not leave us to figure this out on our own. He gives us the Holy Spirit to empower us to love beyond our natural capacity. When we lean on God, we find the strength to love in ways that reflect His heart.
Today, think about someone who could use a tangible expression of the love of God. It could be a kind word, an act of service, or simply your presence. Ask God to help you love them as He loves you.
As you love one another, you become a living testimony of the transforming love of Jesus. Your love for others points people to Jesus, reminding them, and you that His love is the foundation of everything good and true. Carry this commandment in your heart and let His love shine through you.
Heavenly Father, As You teach me what real love is, I pray the work will be done in my life. As You have loved me, I must show others that love. Love is patient and kind and does not vaunt itself. I desire to be a vessel of honor and to be used by You showing Your love to all I see. Thank You, Father, for such love. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
