AUDIO VERSION

What is the difference between forgiveness and redemption? Both are blessings provided to us by the blood of Jesus.

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)

Forgiveness involves asking and giving forgiveness. One person asks for it, and the other chooses to provide it. Both the asker and the giver must release past hurt and disappointment and be restored to wholeness.

Redemption involves forgiveness obtained. Sin is gone, and there is a price involved, a payment made. We became united as one with our heavenly Father and the people who have carried the unforgiveness.

“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” (Romans 12:18)

Think about this Bible verse as it applies to our salvation. God through Jesus supplied the forgiveness of our sins. Why? Because of God’s grace.

It pleases God to pour out grace and forgiveness. To whom much is given, much is required. Because we have been forgiven, God requires us to give forgiveness to others.

God wants us to walk in unity with Him and the people God has placed in our lives.

Do you have someone you need to forgive? Ask God to show you if there is any unresolved conflict that may have stolen your peace and joy.

Heavenly Father, I will forgive as I have been forgiven by You. I could never be made perfect to the world, and only by the blood of Jesus I am forgiven. Because Your love lives within me, I will forgive others. As much as depends on me, I will live peaceably with all. I must pray for the ones I do not understand as You love them too. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
