AUDIO VERSION

Stories of God's goodness to us are found throughout the Bible. This theme is repeated over and over for a specific reason. God wants us to understand that He is good! He is not just God, and He is good.

“Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever.” (Psalm 136:26)

Today’s Bible verse is interesting because David recorded it, and he understood how to reveal God's love and character in his life and do good on the earth.

If we could come to this understanding, we would be better off. As we study the goodness of God and His full intent for us, we will do more good. If we learned to become more like our Creator, we would take on more of God’s attributes.

Many times we find people difficult to be around due to their attitudes. Often, it is just that they do not know any better. We all know people that carry grudges or a chip on their shoulders, even blocks on their shoulders. Not only do their different personality traits create these attitudes, but they also carry deep wounds from their past.

We are simply products of our programming. People do not accidentally turn out good or bad.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.” (Matthew 12:33)

It cannot be more simply stated than that. Jesus has identified why good people are good and bad people are bad.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

The world would be a much better place if we would obey Jesus´ commandments right now, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Love your neighbor as yourself.

When we obey God’s commands, not only are we fulfilled, but God is glorified.

God has done a good work by giving us Jesus; in return, we should allow that good work to be completed in us.

Heavenly Father, I give this life that You have given me to be used to the praise of Your Glory. I want to follow Your lead in everything I say and do, showing You to others. Use me, Father, to bring others to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
