GOD WANTS US TO REJOICE IN HOPE

There are many reasons to feel discouraged right now: The news of problems in the world, challenges that seem overwhelming, problems that seem not to have solutions. There are times now when we all can feel hopeless.
“You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.” (Psalm 119:114)
Paul knew that all of us needed hope, and the Bible tells us that hope endures.
No matter how depressing or dark the circumstances appear, we can always hope in God. He wants to give us hope in all situations, no matter how dark things might seem.
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)
Paul knew a thing or two to have hope in hopeless situations. As Paul and Silas sat in jail, they could have been depressed. Instead, they had hope and praised God. And when they did, God brought them deliverance and victory.
The world can provide us with answers that give us short-term relief. Yet we are hopeless if we look at our circumstances and let the world dictate how we should think.
We may go through situations that threaten us and cause uncertainty, stress, anxiety, doubt, and fear. But if we stand firm and depend on God, we can be assured that God is our source of hope, and we can rejoice in God and the hope that He promises us.
If we have hope, we will be filled with peace and joy, no matter what is going on in the world.
Today, remind ourselves not to place our hope in the world, the world system, or any other person.
Take a moment to rejoice in the hope that God has given us. Place our hope in God and His eternal power to save and make everything right in His time, in His way.
Are you rejoicing in the hope that God has given you?
Heavenly Father, I place my hope, confidence, and trust in You. You are the Almighty God who lives within me. I have all I will ever need. It is my responsibility to read, study, and meditate Your Word. When I do that, I will know what only You can do. You are the one that delivered from lions, raised the dead, and calmed the sea. My hope is in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
