Audio Version

Pastors are shepherds, because they feed, protect, and guide the flock. God has tasked pastors with the responsibility to feed, protect, and guide His Church.

"And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding." (Jeremiah 3:15)

The Bible reveals the promise of God to His people to give them pastors according to His heart, which shall feed them with knowledge and understanding.

Today's Bible verse tells us that God desires to give us pastors. God does not want His people to be scattered, and without knowledge and understanding, neither does God want them to be without structure.

“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36)

Jesus had compassion on them because they were weary, and they were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. When God's people lack pastors, they will become spiritually weak and lack Godly structure in their lives. Pastors feed God's people so that they will not be weak spiritually when the enemy attacks so they do not scatter.

Any Believer who does not have a pastor will not get the proper Biblical structure that God intended for them, and they will live a spiritually scattered lives because other priorities will enter in and take over. God wants you fed by the Word of God and structured.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

Want is always the result of not coming under God's shepherding of every Believer having a pastor. Your pastor needs to feed you with the Word of God, providing you with the knowledge and understanding that you need to defeat the enemy.

“God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land. (Psalm 68:6)

God sets the solitary in families, which means that God places His children in different local assemblies in the Body of Christ to grow spiritually. You did not design your destiny; God did. He knows the right knowledge and wisdom you need to fulfill His plan for your life, so let God lead you to the pastor He has prepared just for you.

“O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” (Jeremiah 10:23)

Your ways are not your own; you do not direct your steps. Let God lead you to your pastor, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding, and equip you for life and the destiny God has for your life.

Where do you go to be spiritually fed?

Heavenly Father, Thank you for providing me the men and women of God to feed, protect, and guide me. I know my ways are not my own, and I want the Holy Spirit to lead me to where I can feed on the wisdom and understanding of Your Word. Thank You for leading me to where You have planted me so that I can grow spiritually. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
