AUDIO VERSION

It is interesting to think about the impact Paul made on the world by following God’s plan for his life. Not only did Paul write most of the New Testament, he also took the Gospel to the far reaches of the known world as one of the very first missionaries.

“Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” (Colossians 1:28)

Paul’s impact did not end there; even today, Believers from around the world learn from his letters, inspired by the Holy Spirit, that Paul wrote so many centuries ago. Paul lived a very focused “on the mission” life. God gave him a plan. Paul knew it, Paul lived it and opened each of his letters, reiterating it.

“of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,” (Colossians 1:25)

Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus was the driving force in Paul’s life. Paul was commissioned to present the Word of God in fullness to us, and he gives the reason why he labored with all the energy that God gave him: present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Paul wanted us to be mature and complete which comes through the knowledge of God’s will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;” (Colossians 1:9)

This is why Paul shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere he went because the Gospel is both the power of God and the wisdom of God.

“For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (I Corinthians 1:22-25)

The Gospel is the starting point in God's Kingdom, and yet it is so profound that it is something we will continue to understand our entire lives.

As Believers, we are so thankful that Paul labored so intently for the Gospel. We are reaping the fruit from his labor, as well as every man and woman of God who understood the Gospel throughout the centuries and gave their lives to be a part of God’s redemption story.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:9)

We each have a mission, and calling from God and so today we want to encourage you with these words: Do not become tired of doing good, because you will reap a harvest of blessings in your life if you do not give up!

Who will you share the Gospel with today?

Heavenly Father, I want to live my mission and calling from You. I ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. With Your strength, I will not grow weary while doing good, for, in due season, I shall reap if I do not lose heart. I will follow the calling on my life to share You with those I meet or communicate with each day. I will pray for the ones You put upon my heart as I will be faithful in the opportunities in this life that You have given to me. I will share the Gospel, sharing hope for a world that needs You. Thank You, Father, for the strength You give me each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
