LIVING A PRAYER LIFESTYLE
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
Prayer is a lifestyle. We need to pray for God’s direction and God’s way at all times in our lives. Prayer is not just a moment in time for a quick conversation when we need something from God. We need to be in regular conversations with God throughout the day. Prayer is not only talking to God only when we want something but to understand and know God fully by having a close relationship with Him.
“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” (Ephesians 6:18)
This is what we need to understand about praying in the Spirit. Paul told us that we need to pray at all times. Paul constantly instructed Believers that they always needed to pray.
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42)
Think about this concept for a moment. God wants us to talk to Him. God wants our conversation with Him. Can you imagine if your children only spoke to you when they wanted something, or you only talked to your parents when you wanted something? How would you feel? You would never have any conversations unless it were about asking for something. This would be a dysfunctional relationship.
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;” (Colossians 4:2)
How can we go hours, days, weeks, or longer, not talking to God? Then, once we do talk to God, it is only because we have a problem. Prayer is a conversation with God. It is through this prayer lifestyle that we can have conversations with God at any time.
“pray without ceasing,” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
God is inviting each of us to have a conversation with Him. God is giving us a direct line of communication where God hears our prayers and gives us the strength we need. We need to want to enter into God's presence through prayer, and God wants us to come into God's presence with prayer. God has given us prayer so that we can have His support in our lives and pray for Believers and for those who need to know Him.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” (Philippians 4:6)
God says to let our requests be made known to God. It is time to start praying! We can pray all kinds of prayers. We can have any conversation with God that we want. We can pray and say thanks. We can pray for our needs. We can pray for strength. We can pray for help. We can pray for others. We can talk to God about everything that is going on in our lives.
There is nothing mundane about our lives to God. Start a conversation with God today. God wants to hear everything about His children.
“rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;” (Romans 12:12)

Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for my communication with You. I know You are closer than anyone here, and You have offered this communication to Your children. With You knowing all the answers in life, I communicate with You about everything. I can do all things through You who strengthens me. I will meditate Your Word, renew my mind with Your Word, and then take it before You in faith believing. I will be depending on Your strength for the situation, and then I am blessed. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven as I pray to You and receive Your knowledge in all things. Praise to You for my communication with You for my life and for the lives of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
