AUDIO VERSION

Offering praise to God is what we offer in acknowledgment of God's greatness. We might think that praise is the same as saying "thank you," but there is a big difference. Thanksgiving describes our attitude toward God for what He has done in our lives, while praise is offered for who God is.

"Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God." (Psalm 50:23)

Every one of us are commanded to praise God. The Bible tells us that praise is one reason we were created.

“This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.” (Isaiah 43:21)

Praise originates in our hearts when they are full of love toward God. As Believers, we love God because He first loved us. Without God's love, any praise we offer is shallow. Love, born in a relationship with God through Jesus, is an essential part of our praise to God.

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” (Deuteronomy 6:5)

How can we bring praise to God? What can we do to make it an integral part of our daily life? Praise can be expressed in song, in a Bible verse, or in prayer, and it is to be done all the time.

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)

Praise to God is expressed through our everyday actions, as well as in our thoughts. Praise is an act of worship.

“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” (Hebrews 13:15)

How do we start praising God? If praising God is new to you, Start praising God for who He is to you. In time, praising God will become as normal as taking a breath. Sometimes we can praise God just by taking a moment in our prayer time or driving in the car. Offering praise to God can be offered anywhere.

“I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” (Psalm 9:2)

Search for opportunities to bring praise to God. Your praise to God is evidenced through your salvation. When others see you, do they see a reflection of God's praise?

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (1 Peter 2:9)

Is there something difficult that you are facing today? Stop and lift your eyes to the heavens and begin to praise God for who He is and for the strength and peace He offers you, right there in the middle of it all. Honor God with your sacrifice of praise, and watch God deliver you all the peace, strength, courage, and wisdom you need to navigate through your situation.

How are you offering praise to God today?

Heavenly Father, All Praise and honor, I give to You. You have redeemed me and delivered me from the power of darkness as I am called into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. I will take Your wisdom and live where You have delivered me, giving all praise to You for my life in You. I renew my mind to that peace, joy, healing, and all that You have provided for me. As I meditate on Your promises, the reality of what I have in You gets deep in my heart. Then out of the abundance of my heart, I will speak. That is truly good treasure coming forth out of my mouth in honor to You. I know If there is something difficult I am facing today, I will stop and lift my eyes to the heavens and begin to praise You for who You are and for the strength and peace You offer me, right there in the middle of it all. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
