LIVING WITH PURPOSE
But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
Living as a Believer is not just about steering clear of what’s wrong—it is about eagerly going after what is good and meaningful. Paul encourages Timothy, and us, to make thoughtful choices that show a heart that loves God.

Rather than getting caught up in the fleeting distractions around us, we are invited to focus on what truly lasts and brings deeper meaning to our lives.
Every day brings new chances to choose our path. Sometimes, emotions like fear, anger, or worry want to take the lead—but we can decide instead to grow in qualities like love, patience, and gentleness. These do not blossom all at once. They develop as we walk with God, spending time in His Word, in prayer, and learning to trust Him a little more each day.
Paul uses the word "pursue," which means these virtues take practice, just like training for a sport. We will not always get it right, and some days patience or love might feel extra tough. But those moments give God a chance to help us grow and become more like Jesus, little by little.
The word "flee" matters just as much as "pursue." We can no longer hold on to habits that do not help us grow, but God gently invites us to let go of what weighs us down. As we do, we make space for the Holy Spirit to bring lasting good into our lives.
Following Jesus is not about having it all together—it is about moving in the right direction. If you keep seeking God, you will see Him shaping your heart over time. Even the smallest acts of kindness, trusting God in tough moments, and choosing to forgive or be gentle all show His love shining through you.
Today, you can ask God to help you run toward the things that honor Him. As you stick with Him and keep growing, your life will show His grace, and others will notice Jesus shining through your words, actions, and who you are.
Heavenly Father, help me flee what dishonors You and pursue righteousness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Shape my heart each day so my life reflects Your grace and brings glory to Your holy name. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
