Life often tugs our attention in many directions. Responsibilities, disappointments, worries, and even everyday routines can gently pull us away from what matters most. In the midst of it all, Jude’s encouragement feels like a warm reminder: keep yourselves in the love of God.

This does not mean we have to earn God’s love or work hard enough to deserve it—His love is already freely given through His grace. Instead, Jude encourages us to stay close to God, letting His love shape our thoughts, choices, and priorities. Like a branch connected to a vine, we receive life and nourishment by staying close to the Lord through prayer, obedience, worship, and spending time in His Word.
Staying in God’s love takes intention, but it is an invitation rather than a burden. The world offers many substitutes for peace, security, and purpose, but only God can truly satisfy the deepest needs of our hearts. When we spend time with Him, we are reminded of who He is—and who we are because of His love. His love steadies us when life is uncertain and strengthens us when our faith feels shaky.
Jude also invites us to look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. This perspective lifts our eyes beyond today’s challenges. We can live with hope, knowing God’s mercy is for today and forever. Each day brings us closer to the fulfillment of His promises. Our future is secure—not because of anything we do, but because of Jesus.
There is so much comfort in knowing we are loved by God and held by His mercy. When challenges come, we can rest assured His love never changes. When we stumble, His mercy is still there for us. When we feel weary, He is always close by.
Today, let yourself stay close to the Lord. Rest in His love, trust His mercy, and keep your eyes on the hope you have in Jesus. No matter what season you’re in, God’s love is always a safe place to be.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and endless mercy. Help me stay close to You each day, trusting Your promises and walking in Your Word. Keep my eyes fixed on the hope found in Jesus. Strengthen my faith and guide my steps. In the name of Jesus Amen.
