LOVE IN ACTION
It is easy to get caught up in words. We can say all the right things and use all the right phrases, but actions speak louder than words.
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18
Think about the last time your actions did not match what you said. It happens to the best of us. We get busy and distracted, or maybe we forget what we said.
John reminds us that real love is not about what we say. It is about what we do. It is about rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty.
Real love is about showing kindness, compassion, and grace in our actions, not just our words.
Maybe it is taking the time to listen to a friend who is going through a tough time, even when we are busy, or lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need, even if it inconveniences us.
It is about small, everyday acts of love that add up over time. It is about making someone smile, lending a listening ear, or offering a word of encouragement when it is needed most.
When we love in deed and in truth, something amazing happens. Our words gain power and they become more than just empty promises or meaningless conversation. They become a reflection of the love that is in our hearts.
Challenge yourself today to love not only with your words, but with your actions. Let kindness, grace, and compassion show to those around you, not because you have to, but because you want to, because that is what real love looks like.
Heavenly Father, I want to be more like You, Jesus. I ask Your Holy Spirit to guide me today and in the days to come to be more like You. I will let kindness, grace, and compassion show to those around me, not because I have to, but because I want to, because that is what real love looks like. I truly do want to be more like You. Thank You, Father, for working in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
