WALKING WITH CHRIST
One of the greatest joys and adventures for believers is learning to recognize the loving voice of the Good Shepherd, even with all the noise around us.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27
Jesus paints a beautiful picture of His relationship with us. He does not see us as strangers or distant acquaintances—He lovingly calls us His sheep.
This image reminds us of His constant care, protection, and personal attention. Just like a good shepherd knows each sheep by name, Jesus knows and cares about every detail of our lives.
Hearing Jesus’ voice is not just for a select few—every Believer is invited to grow in that relationship. We hear Him as we read God’s Word, spend time in prayer, worship, and walk with Him. The more time we spend with our Shepherd, the more familiar His voice becomes. Just like close friends easily recognize each other’s voices, we start to recognize Christ’s gentle guidance as we share life with Him.
The world offers countless opinions about success, happiness, truth, and purpose. Fear can shout loudly. Doubt sometimes whispers in our ears. Temptation promises quick fixes. But the voice of Jesus is different—His words always bring peace, line up with God’s Word, and gently draw us closer to the Father.
Jesus also says, "I know them." Those words are so comforting! He knows our strengths and our struggles. He celebrates our victories with us and carries our burdens when we can’t. Nothing surprises Him, but His love for us never changes. We don’t have to earn His acceptance or be perfect. We just need to trust Him and follow where He lovingly leads.
Following Jesus means choosing His way each day. Sometimes His path stretches our faith, helps us forgive, or teaches us to wait patiently. Even when we can’t see the whole journey, we can trust the One who leads, because our Shepherd always walks ahead of us, guiding each step.
Today, take a moment to slow down and listen. Open your Bible, quiet your heart, and invite the Lord to speak to you. His voice still calls with truth, grace, and love. As you follow Him one step at a time, you’ll discover that the safest and most joyful place to be is always close to your Shepherd.
Heavenly Father, help me recognize Your voice above every distraction. Give me a willing heart to trust and follow where You lead. Thank You for knowing me completely and loving me faithfully. Keep me close to You each day. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
