OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD
Paul gave us challenging and empowering wisdom for our daily lives. He acknowledged the reality of evil in the world, which we encounter in different negative forms that enter our daily lives.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21
Paul urges us not to let evil overpower us or dictate our responses. When faced with negativity, it is easy to feel overwhelmed or defeated.
Instead, Paul gives us a powerful strategy: Overcome evil with good. This is more than resisting evil; it is actively countering it with positive and constructive actions.
It is about choosing love over hate, forgiveness over bitterness, and kindness over retaliation.
Think about a situation where you have encountered negativity or mistreatment. Maybe someone has spoken poorly of you or mistreated you. It is natural to want to respond in a similar manner, to get even with them or hold onto resentment.
Paul challenges us to respond differently. Instead of letting that negativity consume us, we can respond with goodness.
Responding with goodness does not mean ignoring the wrong or pretending it did not hurt. It means choosing a higher path, one that brings light into darkness.
It is about showing compassion where there is cruelty, extending grace where there is an offense, and seeking reconciliation where there is division.
It is not a passive response; it is a proactive stance. By actively choosing good over evil, we resist negative influences and contribute positively to the world around us.
As you go about your day, remember this devotion when faced with evil, whether big or small, and choose to overcome it with good.

Heavenly Father, as I see in Your Word the importance of trusting You; I know You know everything. I desire my life to reflect Your transformative power of love and grace with those I come in contact. I will listen for Your Holy Spirit leading as I read and study Your Word. The world needs You and I want to be used to impact others for the Kingdom of You. I thank You for hearing and leading me from this day forward. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
